I am a renal physician and kidney transplant physician with over 20 years' experience. After obtaining my medical degree in Auckland in 1993, I qualified as a physician and then specialist renal physician in 2002. I have interests across the spectrum of renal diseases and treatment and the long-term care of those with chronic health conditions. I worked for many years at Wellington Hospital providing outreach clinics across the region. I was clinical leader of the Wellington renal service for eight years and was the chair of the New Zealand Renal group for five years and representative in the Australian and Aotearoa New Zealand Society of Nephrology council for four years.
