I am a dual trained Gastroenterologist and General Physician, specializing in Interventional and therapeutic procedures.

I completed medical school in Pakistan and then undertook medical training at University of California – San Diego before moving to New Zealand in 2006.

I then undertook medical and gastroenterology training at various centres and was awarded Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians degree in 2020.

I did a 2-year fellowship at Edinburgh (Scotland) at the Royal Infirmary, training further in therapeutic endoscopy performing surgeries (including cancer resection) with an endoscope avoiding the need for cutting the abdomen open and long hospital stays.

I have trained in upper GI physiology, Hepatobiliary and pancreatic medicine and luminal endoscopy.

My family is based in Palmerston North and I work at the District Hospital where I also supervise gastroenterology and surgical trainees.
