Afrasyab Khan is a New Zealand trained Gastroenterologist and Interventional Endoscopist. After completion of his Gastroenterology training in Auckland and Dunedin, Afrasyab completed further post-fellowship training focusing on advanced endoscopy. He has also completed a Master’s Degree from the University of Otago in Dunedin. He is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.

He is experienced in diagnostic and therapeutic upper (gastroscopy) and lower GI endoscopy (colonoscopy). He is well versed in the assessment and management of all aspects of gastroenterology. His interests include gastroesophageal reflux disease, inflammatory bowel disease and hepatobiliary pathology. He has a special interest in different modalities used in the detection and prevention of colon cancer including colonoscopy, polyp detection and resection.

He is a member of the New Zealand Society of Gastroenterology and the American College of Gastroenterology. He is well published and has presented at international conferences.
